Neben klassischen Inhalten und Konzepten der Wirtschaftsinformatik geht der Kurs auch auf aktuelle Entwicklungen ein, wie z.B. Cloud Computing, Electronic Business oder agile Vorgehensmodelle. Die Kursinhalte basieren inhaltlich auf der Vorlesung "Einführung in die Wirtschaftsinformatik" an der Technischen Universität Berlin, die in den letzten Jahren von über 1.000 Studierenden erfolgreich besucht wurde.

Kursbeschreibung
Wir möchten mit Ihnen das wissenschaftliche Denken, Arbeiten und Schreiben entwickeln.
Der Kurs beginnt philosophisch. Wir werden erörtern, was Wahrheit ist, was Wissenschaft tut und wie sie sich vom Alltagswissen unterscheidet. Danach wird es aber schnell praktisch und wir zeigen Ihnen, wie man vom leeren Blatt zu einer Hausarbeit gelangt. Alle Grundtechniken wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens von Zitation bis Datenerhebung werden hierbei vermittelt oder zumindest einmal eingeführt. Wir sprechen dabei auch über Lerntypen und Arbeitsorganisation.
Ist dieser Kurs etwas für mich?
Der Kurs richtet sich an Schüler, die schon mal ein Gefühl für wissenschaftliche Methoden entwickeln wollen, sowie an Studienanfänger, die ihn ergänzend zu den Angeboten ihres Studiengangs belegen können. Aber auch Master-Studierende, deren Einführungskurse in das Wissenschaftliche Arbeiten schon eine Weile zurückliegen, können ihre Kenntnisse in diesem Kurs auffrischen. Kurz: Er eignet sich für alle, die – aus welchen Gründen auch immer – eine schriftliche Arbeit nach wissenschaftlichen Standards erstellen möchten oder müssen.
Wir richten uns mit dem Kurs aber vor allem an nicht-naturwissenschaftliche Studiengänge.

Sie sollten lesen und schreiben können. Ansonsten ist dies ein Einstiegskurs.

This seminar examines women's experiences during and after war, revolution, and genocide. The focus of the course is mostly on the 20th century and on North America, Europe and the Middle East.
As we see American women coming into positions of unprecedented economic and political power, we start to wonder: why now? The Women Have Always Worked MOOC, offered in two parts, explores the history of women in America and introduces students to historians’ work to uncover the place of women and gender in America’s past.
Part One of the course traces an arc from the Colonial Period through the passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which formally established women’s right to vote. Participants will learn how women negotiated for the home and workplace and how they overcame the tension between the two to produce a more equal and more democratic society. They will also learn how race, religion, and class are embedded in ideas about gender. This course tells the story of overall achievement and growth for women, but also discusses expanding democracy, social justice and new definitions of liberty and equality.

This course aims to inspire and empower women and men across the world to engage in purposeful career development and take on leadership for important causes—to lead change with more conviction and confidence—and improve our workplaces and communities for all.
This course is designed to introduce and help students understand the changes and continuities in the lives of women in South Asia from a historical perspective. Using gender as a lens of examining the past, we will examine how politics of race, class, caste and religion affected and continue to impact women in South Asian countries, primarily in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. We will reflect upon current debates within South Asian women's history in order to examine some of the issues and problems that arise in re-writing the past from a gendered perspective and these are found in primary documents, secondary readings, films, newspaper articles, and the Internet.

This pass/fail seminar should be a fun setting where we can all enjoy a love of good books together. Students will read approximately one novel every two weeks, and the class will discuss each novel in a relaxed and interactive setting, with attention to whatever themes and issues interest them most about each book. We will read a wide mixture of classic and contemporary novels written by women, including: Edith Wharton, The House of Mirth; Toni Morrison, Jazz; Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway; Alice Walker, The Color Purple; Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre; Sheri Reynolds, The Rapture of Canaan; Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice; and Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar. Recurrent issues likely to be discussed include: gender, race, and class; romance, love, and marriage; depression and suicide; and conception, childbirth, and parenthood.
