Ingresar a este curso de “Ética de la Felicidad” es el regalo personal más especial que se hace a sí mismo quien quiere tomar en serio su propia existencia. Es el tema más digno de ser meditado en esta vida y la reflexión más valiosa que puede asumir un ser humano para dar dignidad a su vida.

Ser feliz y vivir feliz, son los dos  asuntos en los que nos jugamos nuestra existencia. Las reflexiones sobre estos temas las encontramos mejor planteadas y desarrolladas en los filósofos, porque ellos han concebido su actividad filosófica como una forma de vida válida para todos los seres humanos. Esta actividad se opone a las opiniones inciertas, engañosas y desconocedoras de la naturaleza humana que abundan en nuestro medio cultural y con las cuales se quiere cubrir la felicidad con un manto oscuro e inalcanzable para las personas. Tener una conciencia feliz, permite al ser humano realizar acciones éticas o morales igualmente felices. Este camino ético de la felicidad es el que andaremos en el desarrollo de nuestro curso y en el que cada uno de los participantes encontrará buenos argumentos para ser y vivir feliz cada día.

Las enfermedades transmitidas por vector (ETV) comprenden un grupo heterogéneo de enfermedades que difieren en su expresión clínica y patológica en las que están involucradas una gran variedad de agentes patógenos y vectores transmisores. Actualmente, las ETV de mayor importancia por su magnitud, trascendencia y vulnerabilidad son el dengue y el paludismo. Por otro lado, el riesgo de que el virus de Chikungunya se propague a nivel mundial, especialmente en las Américas, es probablemente mayor de lo que se había pensado.

El curso, impartido por el Instituto Nacional de Salud Pública (INSP), tiene como objetivo capacitar al personal de salud en el adecuado diagnóstico, tratamiento y manejo en general de enfermedades transmitidas por vector (ETV) de mayor impacto.

This course offers a broad survey of modern European history, from the end of the Thirty Years' War to the aftermath of World War II. Along with the consideration of major events and figures such as the French Revolution and Napoleon, attention will be paid to the experience of ordinary people in times of upheaval and transition. The period will thus be viewed neither in terms of historical inevitability nor as a procession of great men, but rather through the lens of the complex interrelations between demographic change, political revolution, and cultural development. Textbook accounts will be accompanied by the study of exemplary works of art, literature, and cinema.

From pineapples grown in Hawaii to English-speaking call centers outsourced to India, the legacy of the "Age of Imperialism" appears everywhere in our modern world. This class explores the history of European imperialism in its political, economic, and cultural dimensions from the 1840s through the 1960s.

Learn about the inspirational work of the leading European painters from approximately 1400 to 1800, and explore the issues expressed through the art of painting. Included in this broad time frame are the works of Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, Velázquez, Rembrandt, Vermeer and Goya.

Painters during this period were concerned with ideas such as the pursuit of beauty, the pleasures and pains associated with love, the demonstration of power and status, or the relationship of men and women to the divinity and to nature. In paintings from this period, we find traces of the emergence of the modern mind set, and perspective on issues such as the respective roles of women and men in the world.

This course focuses on images of paintings by the artists listed in the course syllabus. The discussions that will take place in the “course forum” will allow us to touch upon a broader range of issues.

This course examines the organization of political power and the dynamics of political change in Britain, France, Germany, and Italy. In particular, it focuses on the structure of political power within the state, and on important institutions that form the link between state and society, especially political parties and interest organizations.

Whether you are a student or teacher with an interest in cultural heritage, a GLAM professional, a developer or simply a cultural heritage enthusiast without prior technical knowledge, this MOOC is for you.

As the online availability of digital cultural heritage continues to grow, it becomes more and more important that users, from passive readers, learn to become active re-users. The mission of this course is to share the creative ways with which people use and re-use Europeana and digital cultural content, to demonstrate what Europeana can bring to the learning community, and to bring about the essential concept that cultural content is not just to contemplate, but to live and engage with.

The educational idea behind the E-Space MOOC is to lower barriers to the access and reuse of cultural heritage content on Europeana and similar sources, providing tutorials and trial versions of applications and tools alongside reading materials, useful tips and best practices gathered throughout the course of the project.

In every module (Photography, TV, Museums, Dance, Open and Hybrid Publishing, IPR…) the information provided is targeted – more or less explicitly – to different groups of learners:

• Cultural heritage amateurs, students, and teachers. The information provided here concerns digital cultural heritage in a broad sense; different kinds of content are presented here and it is explained how to easily reuse them. No technical skills or understanding of the underlying mechanisms of the cultural sector are needed for this part.
• GLAM professionals (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums). The information provided here presuppose a professional knowledge of the sector. The aim is to help GLAM professional discovering and understanding useful tools - such as those on the E-Space platform and Europeana Labs - that can be used to enhance, remix, rethink, play with collections in new and fascinating ways.
• Developers. This is the most technical part of each module and it is intended as a way for developers to discover the tools they can work with.

Este curso introduce las evaluaciones de impacto aleatorizadas (o experimentales) como una herramienta para probar y mejorar la eficacia de programas y políticas sociales.

El curso te entregará los conceptos fundamentales para entender en qué consisten las evaluaciones de impacto aleatorizadas, por qué son importantes, cómo se diseñan e implementan, y cómo usar sus resultados.

Combinando clases teóricas y casos de estudio basados en evaluaciones reales, el curso presta atención a aspectos como las virtudes de la metodología experimental, los distintos diseños de aleatorización posibles y qué situaciones pueden poner en riesgo la validez interna de un experimento.

Asimismo, enfatiza otros temas que son relevantes para cualquier tipo de evaluación de programas, tales como medir adecuadamente los resultados de interés, asegurar la calidad de los datos y usar los resultados en el diseño de programas y políticas nuevas.
