Are you an IT manager managing Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)? Users working from anywhere with any device? Device and user identity? You know the story: more and more users bringing their own gadgets to perform work-related tasks. The phrase “work from anywhere” has evolved throughout the years and these days working from anywhere is the norm for many industries. So much so that “working anywhere and from any device” has become the new reality for most enterprises.
This is why it is important for IT operators to develop an effective strategy for embracing a mobile workforce to cope with the paradigm shift caused by the BYOD to securely adopt a mobile workforce.
This course will prepare you to use Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS) to solve the unique challenges your organization is facing today—and to plan ahead for your organization’s long-term success. Starting with enabling hybrid identity, you will quickly learn how to secure corporate data access, protect your employees’ personal information, and manage iOS, Android, and Windows devices. With this introduction to the EMS, you will be guided you through the process of implementing EMS to support Mobile Device Management (MDM) of both company-owned devices and personally-owned devices in your enterprise environment.
Using a combination of MDM scenarios, demos, eBook, and hands-on labs, you will obtain a working knowledge of the inter-dependent technologies that form EMS:
- Microsoft Azure AD Premium
- Azure Rights Management Services (RMS)
- Microsoft Intune
Module 1 introduces you to the four elements (users, devices, apps, and data) involved in enterprise mobility strategy. These elements are used as examples throughout the course. These elements will make it easier for you to understand how EMS can enable organizations to embrace a mobile workforce.
Progressively, you will work your way through online labs to help you understand:
- Implementing Hybrid Identity
- Managing an Active Directory Hybrid Environment
- Managing Inventory
- Preparing the Microsoft Intune Service for Device Enrollment
- Data access and protection using Azure RMS
For example, for the first hands-on lab, entitled Cloud Identity in Azure AD Premium, you will use the lab virtual machine to setup and implement Enterprise Mobility Suite. To prepare for the EMS implementation, you will configure Azure Active Directory (AD) Premium for user and group administration, including self-service group management, and multi-factor authentication. Upon completion of the hands-on lab, you will be able to:
- Create an Azure AD instance
- Activate Enterprise Mobility Suite trial
- Create Azure AD users and groups
- Configure self-service group management in Azure AD Premium
- Configure multi-factor authentication for Azure AD Premium users
- Review Azure AD Premium advanced security reports
The target audience for this course is comprised of enterprise IT Pros who are either tasked with implementing EMS for their organizations or just want to learn more about the technologies that are included in EMS. While it is not possible to cover every nuance of the technologies included in EMS in a single course, we have provided content that will provide you with the solid foundation you will need as you embark on your own EMS implementation.

To make sense of modern China, you simply cannot ignore Marxism. ‘From Mao to Now’ presents current topics that anyone who wishes to engage with China should know.
Rather than praising or condemning, the course focuses on building a deeper understanding of this history through two interwoven elements.
The first structures the course in terms of some ‘red tourism’ to the sites important to the communist revolution in the first half of the twentieth century.
Much of the course footage was filmed on location in China, including Shaoshan, Ruijin, Yan’an and important locations in Beijing, such as Tiananmen and the Nationalities Museum (minzuyuan).
The second element of the course will take those experiences and use them to help answer some fundamental questions:
- Is China socialist or capitalist today, or is it perhaps both at one and the same time?
- Is there such a thing as Chinese socialist democracy, and, if so, what is it?
- Does China have its own theory of human rights, drawn from the long Chinese tradition and Marxism?
- If the Chinese state is a form that has not been seen before, then what is it?
