Coursera: Aaron Pollack: From Intern to Full-Time Software Engineer
Aaron Pollack graduated with a BA in Political Science and found a role as a social media intern at a technology startup. But having a passion for building things, Aaron soon realized he was at the wrong side of the company with a deep interest in engineering. He was told however that he needed a more formal education or skills in design patterns, algorithms and data structures to be taken seriously as a developer. Searching for a way to step up his credential value, he found Coursera and signed up for Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1 by Stanford. “The course was definitely a challenge, but it taught me a great deal about the topic and industry” After the course, Aaron put his new credentials up on Linkedin. It was exactly the ammunition he needed. Soon he was proving to interviewers he was actually capable and qualified.
