Coursera: Coursera Passes 1000-Course Milestone
On March 28, 2016, Coursera passed an exciting milestone - we now have over 1000 courses active and open for enrollment on our platform! To put this number in context - we offered fewer than 150 courses at the end of 2013, and only 260 in April 2015. We owe this incredible growth to: Our 140+ global partners, who’ve worked with us over the past year to create hundreds of courses in new areas like personal development, language learning, and arts and humanities - in addition to deepening their content offerings in business, computer science, and data science - and whose commitment to pedagogical innovation has led to new concepts such as the 12 project-based courses that we launched in February 2016 Our evolving learning experience, which we’ve updated to support running course sessions much more frequently, so that most courses now always have a session open for enrollment Our learners, whose diverse interests and goals have continually pushed Coursera and our partners t…
