Editor’s note: Khadija Niazi is a Courserian living in Pakistan. She and her brother are turning 13 this year and have each completed over 6 courses already. They recently posted about their experience. Now, along with their mom, they are going to share their perspective on MOOCs for young students and families! I believe that I represent everyone who has a passion for education – someone trying to learn under many different circumstances. But I’m also just like any other 13-year-old student you might come across in your daily life. When I started taking courses on Coursera, the only thing that mattered to me was gaining knowledge. Studies were never a burden; I love learning – at school, or even while watching TV. I learned very early on that education doesn’t need to be confined to a classroom, holding a book in your hand. Education is out there, everywhere; all you need to do is go find the right key for the door. That’s why I turned to MOOCs…
